FAQ

Everything you want to know about pending settlements, payouts, privacy, and billing. We answer the skeptical questions directly.

Trust & Legitimacy

Is PendingMoney a scam?

No. PendingMoney is not a scam, but we understand why you'd ask. The space has real scams-companies that demand upfront fees before filing claims, or that promise unrealistic payouts. We don't do either. You can check your eligibility for free with no payment required. You only pay if you want us to find and file claims for you. The settlements we file for are real, public, and managed by actual courts and settlement administrators. You can always research any settlement yourself and file independently at no cost.

Are you a law firm or do you provide legal advice?

No. PendingMoney is not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We're a money-recovery service that identifies publicly available class-action settlements and refunds, then helps you file claims. If you need legal advice about a specific settlement, we recommend speaking with an attorney. What we do is research, filing assistance, and deadline tracking.

Are the settlements and refunds you find actually real?

Yes. Every settlement and refund program we identify is verified as real and publicly available. Class-action settlements are court-approved and published on official settlement administrator websites and court dockets. Refund programs come from government agencies or companies and are searchable in public databases. You can independently verify any settlement we find by looking it up yourself-the data is free and public.

Why should I trust you with my personal information?

We only ask for information we actually need to check your eligibility and file claims on your behalf. We never ask for your full Social Security number. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across apps and devices. The information you provide stays with us and is used only to find and claim your money. You can delete your account and all associated data anytime. We're transparent about what we collect and how we use it.

What happens if PendingMoney shuts down?

Once we've filed your claims, they exist independently of us. The settlement administrator or fund manages your claim directly. You'll receive payment from them, not through PendingMoney. We'll provide you with all the confirmation numbers and contact information you need before anything changes. Your claims are never lost-they're tracked in public settlement systems.

Money & Payouts

Will I definitely get paid?

No-payouts are not guaranteed. You may qualify for a settlement or refund, and if you do, you may receive a payout. The amount depends on whether your claim is approved, how many other claimants there are, and how much money is left in the settlement fund. Some settlements pay out $20 and others might pay hundreds. Some claims are rejected because the claimant doesn't meet the exact eligibility criteria. We'll be honest about your odds before we file.

How much money could I receive?

It varies widely. Some settlements pay $5 to $25 per claimant. Others have paid $100–$500 or more, depending on the claim type and fund balance. We'll show you the estimated payout range for each settlement before filing. What you actually receive depends on how many people file claims-larger claimant pools mean smaller per-person payouts. We never guarantee or promise a specific dollar amount.

How long does it take to get paid?

Most payouts take 3 to 6 months or longer. Some take up to a year. This is normal-settlement administrators need time to process claims, verify eligibility, and distribute funds. Once we file your claim, we track its status and send you updates. You can check your claim status anytime in your account. Payment is usually issued by check or direct deposit, depending on the settlement.

How will I receive my payout?

Most settlements pay by check mailed to the address you provide. Some offer direct deposit to your bank account. We'll specify the payment method when we file your claim and update you as the settlement progresses. You'll receive payment directly from the settlement administrator, not through PendingMoney.

Do I have to pay taxes on the payout?

That depends on the settlement type and your tax situation. Some payouts are considered income and may be taxable; others are not. The settlement administrator will provide tax documentation (like a 1099) if required. We recommend consulting a tax professional to understand your specific tax obligations. This is not tax advice.

Eligibility & Data

How do I know if I qualify for a settlement?

We run a free eligibility check using basic information: your name, address, and purchase or service history. We match this against known class-action settlements and refund programs to see which ones you may qualify for. If we find matches, we'll show you the details and requirements. You can do all of this without paying anything. Only if you decide to have us file claims do we charge a subscription fee.

What information do you need to check my eligibility?

For the free check, we need: your first and last name, current address, and basic information about products or services you may have used. That's it. No payment information, no Social Security number. The more details you can provide about past purchases or accounts, the better we can match you to settlements. All of this is optional-you can start with just a name and address.

Do you need my full Social Security number?

Never. We never ask for your full Social Security number. Some settlements require the last four digits of your SSN for identity verification when we file your claim, but we don't ask for or store your complete number. You're in control-you can choose to file claims that require it, or skip those. Your information is encrypted and protected.

Do I need to be a U.S. citizen?

You don't need to be a U.S. citizen, but you do need a U.S. mailing address to receive settlement payouts. Most class-action settlements and refund programs require a U.S. address for eligibility. If you live outside the U.S. but have a U.S. address (like a relative's or a mailbox service), you may still qualify depending on the specific settlement.

Is PendingMoney available in my state?

PendingMoney is available in all U.S. states. However, individual settlements have their own eligibility rules-some are nationwide, others apply only to specific states. When you check your eligibility, we show you which settlements are available in your location. The free check works everywhere, but the settlements you qualify for depend on state-level rules and your purchase history.

Billing & Cancellation

How much does PendingMoney cost?

The eligibility check is free-no payment required, no credit card. If you want us to find and file claims for you, we offer two subscription plans: $12 per month or $79 per year (equivalent to about $6.58 per month). The subscription gives you unlimited claim filing and deadline tracking for the year. You can cancel anytime-no lock-in contract.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel in two taps in your account settings under Billing. No email, no phone call, no questions asked. Your subscription will end at the end of the current billing period-you'll keep access until then. If you cancel a monthly plan on the 15th of the month, your access ends on the last day of that month.

Will I get surprise charges on my card?

No. We charge on a predictable schedule: either the same date each month or each year depending on your plan. We send a reminder email 7 days before each charge so you know exactly what's coming. If you cancel before the due date, you won't be charged. We never charge extra fees or surprise add-ons.

What does the money-back guarantee cover?

If you're not satisfied with PendingMoney within 30 days of your first purchase, we'll refund your subscription fee in full. This covers the service itself-the eligibility research, claim filing, and deadline tracking. It's not a guarantee that you'll receive a settlement payout (those are determined by settlement administrators, not us). If you have questions about whether you qualify for a refund, contact us.

Why pay for PendingMoney if I can file claims for free?

You're absolutely right-you can research and file claims yourself for free. What you pay for is our time spent finding settlements you qualify for (there are hundreds), researching their specific requirements, and handling the filing paperwork. We also track deadlines so you don't accidentally miss a claim window. If you'd rather do it yourself, you can find most settlements through settlement.org or the official settlement websites. We charge because we save you time and help you catch opportunities you might otherwise miss.

Privacy

Do you sell my data?

No. We never sell your personal information to third parties. Your data is used only to research settlements, file claims on your behalf, and track payout status. We don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies. You own your information and can request deletion anytime.

Do you track me across apps and websites?

No. We don't track you across apps, websites, or devices. We don't use cookies for cross-site tracking or partner with ad networks. The data we collect about you is limited to what you provide directly in your PendingMoney account. When you visit our website, we track basic analytics to improve the service, but we don't create a profile of you across the internet.

What do you actually store about me?

We store your name, address, email address, and any information you provide about past purchases or accounts. We store proof of settlement claims we file on your behalf and claim status updates. We don't store your full Social Security number, credit card number, or bank account details. You can see exactly what we're storing in your account settings and request deletion anytime. Deleted data is removed from our systems within 30 days.

How do you protect my data?

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices, including access controls, regular security audits, and staff training. However, no system is 100% secure. If you have specific security concerns, contact us. We're committed to protecting your information and will notify you immediately if there's ever a breach.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes. You can request account deletion in your settings anytime. Your account and all personal information will be deleted from our systems within 30 days. However, if you have active claims with settlement administrators, those records will remain with them to ensure you can still receive payouts. You'll receive confirmation once deletion is complete.
